Every place has that one resto that’s been around forever. Bob’s is one of those places that is a must visit when you drop by Bacolod. The original stall opening up infront of the Riverside Hospital almost 35 years ago, it is still standing and thriving well into the modern day. I hear it is a regular place to visit once you land in Bacolod.

Now that the holidays are over and people are trying to get into shape and live a healthier lifestyle, (at least for the time being) people have been looking for an alternative dessert to fit your new healthy lifestyle.
White has been around for quite some time now. Opening up branches in Wilson, Shang-rila Mall, and more recently Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street. I’ve been on a Yogurt craving for quite some time now enjoying the cleansing effect on your palette and it was high time (excuse the pun) that I feature White Hat.

Chuck’s Deli is a Deli in Serendra which I couldn’t resist to check out. Whenever I would watch TV Series’ from the US there would always be some sort of scene in a Deli. A Deli or Delicatessen is a term meaning “delicacies” or “fine foods”, usually with a sandwich menu offering the different kinds of meat they already carry. I’ve always been saddened by the little amounts of Deli’s we have in Manila. Yes we have Santi’s, Terry’s and the occasional Olivers, but I am looking for a Deli that offers REALLY good sandwiches. Since I work at Bonifacio High Street, strolling along Serendra one day I noticed a newly opened Deli called Chuck’s Deli. I didn’t even hesitate to enter. From the choices they had, I knew I was in for a treat.

If you’ve been following my blog, you know I’ve been on the hunt for the BEST BURGER in town. If I remember correctly, I crowned Charlie’s Grind and Grill as the BEST BURGER in town for 2010. Well, move over Charlie’s, there’s a new player in town. Boulevard Diner may be a little hole-in-wall (both literally and figuratively) place, but if you want a really juicy burger then this is the place to visit.

Bordeaux is a port city on the Garonne River in southwest France, with an estimated (2008) population of 250,082. The Bordeaux-Arcachon-Libourne metropolitan area, has a population of 1,010,000 and constitutes the sixth-largest urban area in France. It is the capital of the Aquitaine region, as well as the prefecture of the Gironde department. Its inhabitants are called Bordelais.
But to us Filipinos, what bordeaux means is either a good glass of wine, or the restaurant that opened up in the Fort at Burgos circle nearly a year ago. With its really classy decor, simple yet refined, one might misconstrue the place to be expensive or to daunting to say the least. I had that misconception entering Bordeaux. I was about to be proven wrong.

I am a carnivore. A good cut of beef, lightly grilled, served with some potatoes, a good glass of wine and I am in foodie heaven. A dry rub of salt and pepper and you got me salivating like a little kid in a candy store. That’s why when I saw that Outback Steakhouse was part of my itinerary for Manila’s Signature Dishes, I knew I was in for a treat. What else would a steak house serve if not for steak right?

We’ve memorized the jingles. (plays the 911-11-11 to the tune of lone ranger in the background) And we’ve all bought at least one time the traditional hawaiian pizza or pepperoni pizza just because we all grew up to Pizza Hut. I know I have. It was so convenient dialing 911-11-11 and placing your order and what better deal was there that if you had a palm card, you get another pizza for free? If they are late or more than 30 mins you get your pizza for free! (at much risk to the driver if I must say!) Pizza Hut is a long standing Filipino Pizza institution and we’ve all grown accustomed to it. Whether we love it or hate it, its there.

Looking for a seafood restaurant in the Makati district is quite a task already. Looking for a GOOD one, is as you can quite imagine, very difficult. I was pleased to feature part of the Red Crab group of companies, Fish Out of Water, located at the top floor of Greenbelt 5. With its unassuming decor amidst a swanky mall and high-end brands, the alluring combination of tungsten lights and blue neon creates the perfect ambiance to dine with some of the more creative dishes I’ve seen and wanted to try in a long time. Dawning a blue bib, I got ready to enter a Seafood feast.

The weekend market culture is indeed very big in europe and is starting to catch on here in Manila. With the advent of both Legaspi and Salcedo markets, grocers, cooks, bakers, and foodies all get together every weekend to sample and sell their wares to the market going public. The newest being Mercato located at The Fort, it offers one of the widest selections on food and items. Although the struggle to wake up early on a cozy cozy Sunday morning is quite intense, I promise you it’ll be worth it with the food you get to sample and taste.

A lot of foodie friends have been talking about Happy Lemon which just opened up in Greenhills a few weeks ago. Being a foodie myself how could I resist not tasting it? So after my lunch at Racks, I decided to trot off to Happy Lemon located at the G/F of The Promanade at Greenhills for a quick look see. For the uninitiated, Happy Lemon is a China franchise of the now popular Milk Tea. There has been a steady rise of milk tea outlets all over the metro with Tea-o-logy, Serenitea, and a few more opening up shop all over the metro.
